Terms of Use

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern the use of the Alter application (the "Application") operated by VISIALIS ("we", "us" or the "Company").

2. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using the Application you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.

3. Service Description

Alter assists users with the classification and analysis of blockchain addresses on EVM-compatible networks. The Application is available free of charge on the web and via supported mobile distribution platforms.

4. Permitted Use

You agree to use the Application solely for its intended purpose and in accordance with these Terms. You are not allowed to:

• Use the Application for illegal or unauthorized purposes
• Attempt to compromise the security or integrity of the Application
• Reproduce, distribute or create derivative works of the Application
• Use the Application in a way that could damage or disrupt its operation

5. Intellectual Property

The Application and all related content are protected by intellectual property laws. All rights, title and interest remain the exclusive property of the Company.

6. Personal Data

Data processing related to Alter is described in our Privacy Policy. In the standard local mode, VISIALIS does not operate an RPC endpoint and does not receive EVM addresses or JSON-RPC parameters: Alter routes requests directly to third-party services selected or enabled by the user, which receive the connection IP address and the request content. VISIALIS may process data voluntarily provided to support, while the GitHub Pages host processes, in particular, the IP addresses of site visitors.

7. Nature of the Service and Technical Boundaries

Alter is a tool for analyzing and preparing transactions on EVM networks. It never has access to the user's private keys and never signs any transaction.

All signatures are performed by a wallet (such as MetaMask, Rabby, Frame, or any other compatible wallet) or an external signer (such as Ledger, Trezor, Keystone, or any other hardware wallet or remote signer) under the control of the user or the entity they represent (natural person, legal entity, or automated agent acting on their behalf).

By default, Alter is limited to reading the blockchain. In expert mode, it can prepare transactions or submit already signed transactions via eth_sendRawTransaction. The user (or the entity they represent) retains exclusive control over the signature and the decision to broadcast a transaction or not.

Expert mode activation. Expert mode must be explicitly activated by the user. Any transaction broadcast through this mode is irreversible once included in the blockchain. VISIALIS has no control over the broadcast or the effects of the transaction. The user is solely responsible for verifying the content, recipient and amount before signing and broadcasting.

No regulated services. Alter does not provide any investment advice, portfolio management, reception-transmission or execution of orders, custody or administration of crypto-assets, or any other crypto-asset service within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (MiCA). Information displayed by Alter consists solely of factual on-chain data provided for informational purposes and does not constitute a personalised recommendation or an inducement to acquire, dispose of or hold any asset. The user makes their own decisions and bears full responsibility for them.

Automated agents. The user or the entity they represent warrants that they have authority to bind that entity and retains exclusive responsibility for the configuration, supervision and decisions of any automated agent acting on their behalf through the Application. VISIALIS provides no mandate, warranty or control over the decisions of such an agent.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Application is provided “as is”. VISIALIS endeavours to ensure availability and reliability but does not warrant that it will be error-free or available without interruption.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VISIALIS's liability is excluded for: (i) losses or damage resulting from the user's own decisions, including decisions to sign, broadcast or abandon a transaction; (ii) damage caused by third parties over which VISIALIS has no control, including wallets, signers, RPC providers, protocols and blockchain networks; (iii) indirect damage, loss of data, loss of profits or consequential loss.

This limitation does not exclude VISIALIS's liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor does it affect the rights of consumers under applicable law.

9. Amendments

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Amendments take effect upon publication. You are responsible for reviewing the Terms periodically.

10. End of Use

No subscription is required to use the Application. You may stop using it at any time by uninstalling it or closing the web interface. VISIALIS reserves the right to withdraw the Application or suspend updates if usage breaches these Terms or poses a security risk.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France. In the event of any discrepancy between the French version and this English translation, the French version shall prevail.
